Meet the Founder & CEO – Craig Burton
I’ve been in the sales and marketing game for over 25 years, and for the last 14, I’ve been deep in local SEO and all things Google Maps, Google Places, Google+ Local, Google My Business, GMB, Google Business Profiles, GBP! I’ve worked through all the name changes and platform updates and still love it.
Back in 2010, during the Smart Traffic years, we were helping plumbers, dentists, wedding venues and coffee shops hit page one on Google before most people had even heard the phrase "local SEO." Big thanks to the Local Search Forum crowd for shaping a lot of what I still do today.
From there, I started working with Thai SMEs, helping them outrank national chains using smart on-page SEO and real customer reviews. We kept things lean, focused on the fundamentals, and the results spoke for themselves.
Then came a shift when I worked with MBK Group, tailoring local SEO strategies to their hotel properties. Our work with Layana Resort helped them achieve award-winning recognition, and it proved that the same core marketing principles could be adapted across hospitality and other industries.
After that, I took on the role of Head of Digital and e-Commerce at Michelin ROH, looking after 14 countries. I worked alongside the Tiredating team to develop the Tyre+ local SEO system from scratch "Store Discovery Optimisation" as we called it. We launched it successfully across the APAC region (Thailand, Malaysia, Vietnam, Australia and New Zealand) and later supported the global rollout through internal training and process documentation. When I started, we were generating 90,000 leads per month. Four years later, we were at 1.5 million per month, all organic, no ad spend.
Once the Michelin chapter wrapped up, I went back to agency work and brought that same playbook to more than 100 retail locations. The results were consistent: profile views up 60 percent, customer actions up 28 percent, and the system still works today with only minor updates.
